The beginning of the history of the Giacomo Conterno winery can conventionally be traced back to 1908 when Giovanni Conterno and his family (including Giacomo, one of his three sons), who returned to Italy after emigrating to Argentina, opened a tavern, producing wine, in the hamlet of San Giuseppe near Monforte d'Alba: that is, at the meeting point of the town. Giacomo therefore grows up between the tavern and the cellar, until he goes to fight as an artilleryman in the First World War. Back home, he dedicated himself entirely to the production of wine, leading it to be sold not only in Piedmont and Liguria, but throughout Italy.
Barolo Arione is intense, with a lively and full-bodied acidity. Aromas of myrtle, blackberry and pomegranate.
