The Burgundy of Great Wines
·
·
Burgundy is famous all over the world for its white wines made with Chardonnay grapes and reds made with Pinot Noir, autochthonous vines of this region, wines which have always been considered as reference models for other regions where wines are made with the same grapes. Burgundy is located in the central-eastern part of France and is one of the northernmost places in the world where red wines are produced. Both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir produce the best results in cool climates such as that of Burgundy and it is for this reason that the level of quality reached here remains unequaled today. On the other hand, latitude also has disadvantages: climatic adversity can lead in unfavorable years to obtain wines with not always optimal taste-olfactory profiles. Burgundy wines therefore tend to be different according to the vintage, which makes the variety and complexity of this region even more intriguing!
