Wine from the Alps to the hills

Vino dalle alpi alle colline

Collemassari, Grattamacco:

Castello ColleMassari born in 1998, and located in the heart of the Montecucco production area, in Maremma. A place of great charm, on the slopes of Monte Amiata, where in over one hundred hectares of vineyards managed according to organic standards, Sangiovese manages to express an extraordinary Mediterranean character, which materializes in particular in the Montecucco Rosso Riserva, a great champion for years now of constant quality. Then we move on to the Grattamacco estate, a historic name in the Bolgheri area, a winemaking reality born in the late 1970s and which became part of the group in 2002, but above all a company capable of immediately distinguishing itself for the elegance of its products. Indeed, it is here, in 25 hectares of vineyards located in the northernmost Tuscan coast, that cabernet sauvignon and merlot give wines of unforgettable depth, elegant and enveloping at the same time.

Pieropan company:

The wine business began with Leonildo, a doctor from the town of Soave who, driven by knowledge in biology and chemistry, began work in the family vineyards and in the cellar his sons, Fausto and Gustavo, continued the work with infinite passion. Gustavo was particularly dedicated to the artisan activities in the cellar. In the years 1950-1960 all the production was packaged by hand. The fundamental imprinting is given by Leonildo, grandson of the first founder who, with a unique style and an innate vocation and dedication, revolutionized the company. The conviction of the centrality of the vineyard, the incessant search for qualitative excellence and the renewal of the winemaking processes, characterize the Pieropan identity. His wife Teresita shares Leonildo's love for the land and awareness of the value of tradition. Now his sons Andrea and Dario, respectively agronomist and winemaker, follow the path that Leonildo has traced over the years with the same passion handed down for generations. In the Pieropan company philosophy, the vineyard is a guarantee of true quality. The family directly manages its own vineyards which feature only traditional vines. Viticulture is set in total respect for the environment. For some years it has been applying the protocol of organic farming, as a lifestyle choice, in respect of the territory. The vineyards are all located in the classic hilly area of Soave, with different exposures and altitudes. Within the entire property, two particularly distinctive vineyards have been highlighted in terms of expression and personality.
