Champagne l'Artiste Blanc de Blancs David Leclapart lt.0,750
Rècoltant-manipulant of Trépail - a small Premier Cru village north of Ambonnay, in the heart of the Montagne de Reims - David Léclapart on the death of his father decided to devote himself entirely to biodynamic agriculture. In 1997 he converted all the vineyards owned by the family, 3 hectares of land, to biodynamics and made three important decisions: not to add any liqueur, not to use vin de réserve or to blend different vintages. The principles that govern the work in the cellar are identical to those in the vineyard: precision, respect for life and its rhythms, the search for purity.
L'Artiste by Leclapart is a Champagne to be approached with reverence and curiosity. The nose surprises with a varied and layered bouquet characterized by wild flowers and herbs, mint, spices and bread crust. On the palate it is dense, complex and dry. A revelation. A very complex vintage, with good vinosity on the attack and pure freshness on the finish.
